Founding Legacy

Charles Fewster was the founding figure behind C Fewster joiner & undertaker established in 1907. Charles laid the foundations for what would become a deeply respected name in the local community.

After his passing, the business was continued by his son David Fewster, also a Joiner and Undertaker, and it became known as C. Fewster & Son.

Shortly before David's death, he transitioned the business into a limited company, forming C. Fewster & Son Limited. At that time, his three sons were involved as contractors, while Stuart Fewster took the helm of the business at just 19 years old as the Undertaker.

Stuart dedicated himself to the family trade until his untimely death, after which Ken Fewster, another of David's sons, stepped in to focus on the funeral side of the business and assumed the Undertaker duties alongside Ros Hodgson. Under their guidance, the funeral service side of the business grew significantly, while the joinery side gradually faded out.

Since the passing of both Ken and Ros, the business continues to operate under the leadership of the remaining directors:
David R. Fewster and David S. Fewster

Community Pillars

Together, Ken and Ros became the heart of what locals came to know as Fewster’s of Patrington. Though the official name remained C Fewster & Son Ltd, the community recognised Fewster’s as more than just a business—they were a source of comfort and reliability. Ken and Ros were known for their unwavering compassion and commitment to going the extra mile for every family they served. Their professionalism and personal touch set the high standards that the business still upholds today.

Continuing Tradition

As demand grew, Ken and Ros trained and mentored two additional Funeral Directors, ensuring the Fewster legacy would continue. Their sudden passings - Ken in 2023 and Ros in 2024 - were a profound loss, both for the business and the wider community. Their absence was deeply felt, leaving the two Funeral Directors to manage the day-to-day operations while David Fewster stepped in to ensure Fewster’s continued to serve Patrington and surrounding area with the same care and dedication as before.

Future Commitment

Today, a new team has been brought on board to support the business and honour the legacy left by Ken and Ros. Fewster’s of Patrington remains a pillar of trust, compassion, and excellence in funeral care
